Business Office employees attended a MNsure education training session on September 6, 2013 in Minneapolis. MNsure is a website for shopping for, comparing, selecting and enrolling in health coverage. Based on income level, consumers will be covered through Medicaid, MinnesotaCare and Qualified Health Plans available on the exchange. Qualified Health Plans offered through the exchange marketplace are Blue Cross Blue Shield, HealthPartners, Medica, Preferred One and UCare. RC Hospital and Clinics has provider contracts with all of these health plans.
RC Hospital & Clinics has signed a MNsure Data Sharing Agreement whereby selected employees will become Certified Application Counselors (CAC) to assist our patients with the MNsure website. The process of becoming a CAC includes approximately 15 hours of courses including Affordable Care Act101, MNsure 101 and Data Privacy and Security training. CAC applicants must receive a 70% or higher passing grade on each knowledge assessment.
RC Hospital & Clinics is committed to informing and assisting our patients and their families with insurance options and the application and enrollment process. Staff will be available to address questions regarding submission of eligibility and enrollment verification documentation. We will help facilitate referrals to qualified health plans and other county agencies as appropriate.
The state’s health insurance exchange will be open for enrollment on October 1, 2013 for policies that take effect on January 1, 2014. In addition to offering access to individual and small group coverage offered by commercial plans, MNsure will be the new and only vehicle for enrolling low-income Minnesotans in Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare.
