This testing is not meant as a substitute for regular medical care

•   A physician’s order is not required for these tests.
•   No appointment necessary.
•   Check in with the registration staff.
•   The results will be sent directly to you. With your permission, results for RC Hospital & Clinics’ patients will be entered into your Medical Record.
•   You must pay for the tests in advance by cash, check or credit card; insurance will not be billed.

Direct Access Laboratory Testing allows today‘s health conscious consumer to easily and affordably access laboratory testing without an appointment.

If you do not have health insurance, or if you have high deductibles and co-pays, you may find Direct Access Lab Testing to be an affordable way to get the information you need.
Testing is performed at our fully accredited laboratories in Renville, Olivia and Hector. Tests will be completed the same day, and sent to the address provided by you.

If you are fasting, remember that you CAN have the following BEFORE your blood draw:

•  Water
•  Black coffee

Renville County Hospital and Clinics is partnered with Minnesota Pathologists Chartered. We use Rice Memorial Hospital and Mayo Medical Laboratory as reference Laboratories to provide the testing not performed in our laboratories.

Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)
Renville County Hospital and Clinic’s Laboratories are accredited by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), American Proficiency Institute, and The American Red Cross Blood Service Program.
Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) Requirements & Waivers
Congress passed CLIA in 1988 to establish quality standards for all laboratory testing.

A laboratory is defined as any facility that performs laboratory testing on specimens derived from humans for the purpose of providing information for the diagnosis, prevention, treatments of disease, or impairment of, or assessment of health.
The level of CLIA regulation your facility is based on may be subject to the category of tests you perform.

Renville County Hospital and Clinics is CLIA certified to perform:

•  Moderate and High Complexity Tests

Waived Tests- Approved by the Food and Drug Administration
Low risk of error and are exempt from all CLIA rules, so long as testing is performed using manufacturer’s instruction.
Waived Tests are defined as simple Laboratory examinations and procedures.

Moderate and High Complexity Tests- Approved by the Food and Drug Administration
Moderate and high complexity testing is regulated y the state and requires specialized qualifications. To assure staff competency, Renville County Hospital and Clinics participates in the American Proficiency Institute’s quality assurance and proficiency testing program.
