Emergency Department is a Level 4 Trauma Center. RCH&C has the ER staffed 24/7 by highly trained providers that are trained for emergency care. All emergency room staff have specialized training to assess trauma, heart attack and stroke symptoms, and administer life-saving treatment. When advanced care is needed, the hospital aims to get patients to specialized facilities within 60 – 90 minutes.
Emergencies don’t adhere to a nine-to-five schedule. Our emergency department provides 24-hour adult through pediatric emergency and trauma care. Telemedicine services are now available 24/7 for stroke, with a neurologist dedicated to provide this added service. It is staffed by a skilled medical provider and nursing staff proficient in Emergency and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Our facility is fitted with the latest emergency and trauma care technology and is capable of accommodating ambulance and helicopter transportation. Be assured, when the unexpected occurs, the RC Hospital emergency department is ready. Primary coverage is provided by 24/7 providers and local medical staff upon admission to the hospital.
Avera ECare is available for the patients, providers and nursing staff for professional consults and active team members in the patient experience as needed.
