Visitor Information

Patients are the most important people to us at RC Hospital & Clinics in Hector, Olivia, & Renville. We are here to meet your health care needs and strive to exceed your expectations and be your health care providers of choice. Our highly trained staff delivers high-quality, compassionate care from the moment you arrive. We are here to help you with any requests from interpretation, assist with advance directives to billing questions to ensure your best care possible. Critical or Coronary Care

The patient is allowed visitors for a five-minute period. Special consideration may be made depending on the situation with permission of physician and/or charge nurse.

Visiting Hours & Regulations

General visiting is allowed from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily.

Quiet Time – 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily.

We recommend that visitors schedule their visits before 12:30 p.m. or after 2:00 p.m. During this time therapy sessions, doctor rounds and other interruptions will be limited. We recommend that you as a patient take this time to rest as this will help you in your healing process.

No more than two visitors are allowed at the bedside at one time.

Specially designated lounge areas for visitors are set up.

Healthy children under the age of 12 may visit and must be under the direct supervision of a responsible adult.

Visitors should be free of communicable infection or disease.

Special visits to a patient may be arranged at the discretion of the attending physician and/or charge nurse.

Obstetrical Visits

Obstetrics and nursery visits for the general public are from 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Family members and significant other are welcome to visit at any time. Please check-in with the nursing staff when visiting.


Flowers are delivered to the patients’ room. Please keep in mind that large plants and flowers are difficult to deliver and take home at discharge.

Patient Gifts

Visitors should check with the nurse before bringing gifts of food or drink to patients. Please check with the nurse to make sure your gift is appropriate. On the intensive care unit, please check with the unit regarding any gifts for patients.


Email Service – Email messages are delivered during normal business hours (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) Monday through Friday. Any message received outside of these hours will be delivered the next business day. Please note that email messages are hand delivered and thus not guaranteed confidential.

To ensure proper delivery, list the Patient’s Name and Patient’s Room Number on the top of your message.

Write your note of well wishes, when finished hit send.

Regular Mail Services – Letters and packages for patients are delivered each morning. Letters and parcels that arrive after a patient has been discharged are forwarded to their home. Outgoing mail may be left at the nurses’ station.

Healthy Way Cafe

Our café is located on the west side of the medical center and serves a variety of nutritious snacks and healthy meals throughout the day.

M.E. Rauenhorst Family Chapel

Comfortably furnished waiting areas are available for patients’ families throughout our facility. For a quiet moment, please ask for directions to our private M.E. Rauenhorst Family Chapel.

Be A Healthy Visitor
  • Please help protect patients from seasonal viruses. If you have the signs and symptoms of a cold or the flu, please refrain from visiting the hospital until you are symptom-free.
  • If you are well enough to visit, please wash your hands or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer before entering the patient’s room to help stop the spread of germs and infection.

Parking on the south side of the building is reserved for Emergency Room patients only. All others are asked to park their vehicles in the North parking lot.  Access is available through the Main Hospital entrance for visitors and families during our posted visiting hours.

Alma's Garden

Patients families may access Alma’s Garden by use of the Main Entrance or via the east end of the Inpatient Corridor. The Main Entrance does not require a security badge. The East Entance to Alma’s Garden does require a security badge that may be obtained from the Nurse’s Station during visiting hours.
